Waterville Golf Links Ladies AM AM 2024
The Waterville Golf Links Ladies AM AM took place on the 14th April 2024.
This years AM AM's main sponsor was Keary's Motor Group Cork Inconjunction with Waterville Golf Links, Skellig Chocolates and Sive Minerals.
A great day was had by all. The Ladies Team from Kinsale Golf club taking 1st place with 79points.
Lady Captain Anna Cullinane and her committee would like to thank all participants, sponsors and Waterville Golf links for ensuring the 2024 AM AM's success.

Medal Competitions 2024
The Waterville Ladies Golf Club Medal competitions will take place on the following dates for 2024:

Invitational Weekends 2024
The Waterville Ladies Golf Club Invitational weekends for 2024 will take place the weekends of the 3rd, 5th, 10th, and 11th and 12th of May.
Sponsors of the event are The Smugglers Restaurant, Dooley's Steak and Seafood Restaurant, Bridgewater construction, Ivertec, and Skellig Gift Store.
The competition formats will be as follows:
Friday 3rd May – 2 Lady Teams
Sunday 5th May – Ladies 4 Ball better ball
Friday 10th May – 2 Lady Teams
Saturday 11th May - Ladies 4 Ball better ball
Sunday 12th May - Ladies Singles (Stableford)
Allocations of tee times for the Invitational weekends will take place on Tuesday 2nd April for Members from 1200, for non-members from 1300 by phone.

Waterville Ladies Golf Club AM AM 2024
The Waterville Ladies Golf Club AM AM will take place on the 13th of April 2024. This year’s AM AM's main sponsor is Keary's Motor Group Cork in conjunction with Waterville Golf Links.
In the coming week Team Captain’s will be contacted with all details. Teams must be confirmed, and all monies paid by the 13th March.
Team Captains that cannot fulfil their line should advise the Committee as soon as possible in order to allow those wait listed to enter.
Prizes for Teams in 1st – 6th place.
The Waterville AM AM Competition is an annual fundraising event for the Ladies Club which was set up many years ago.
The event is usually played in April, and it involves 38 teams of 4 with the 2 best scores to count.
The same Teams are traditionally invited back each year. If a Captain is unable to play or field a Team their place is forfeited for that year only and put on a rollover list for the following year.
There is also an existing waiting list.
For example: If an existing Team drops out permanently, a Team from the waiting list takes their place.
A lot if interest has been expressed regarding Entry to the AM AM event. At present as we only have 38 allocated tee times therefore the event is fully booked, and the wait list is closed.
We will inform our members if the waiting list reopens in the future.

Spring League 2024
The Spring League for 2024 will run weekly from the Sunday - Saturday from the 28th Jan to March 2024.
Format: Foursomes stableford - Teams of 2 taking alternative shots.
Entry fee: €5 per pair.
Handicaps: 50% of the combined handicap indexes - Calculation must be converted into course handicap per pair. (Example will be posted on the office board)
- Play as often as you wish each week with a different partner. Partners can be repeated the following weeks.
- Arrange your own partners and opposition on all occasions.
- On Sun and Tues, draw time is 12:15 - Tee off @ 12:30. (The draw will take place in pairs, opposition must be pre arranged on draw days however you may not play against them this is to ensure even numbers for format)
- On non draw days tee times can be arranged through the office.
- Winners each week and Overall winner at end of competition.
Christmas Prizes Day 2023
The Waterville Golf Links Ladies Club Christmas prizes day took place on the 16th December.
The festive spirt was in full swing. Congratulations to all Winners and especially to Golfer of the Year Eileen Fitzpatrick.

Captains Pat Aherne's Day will take place on the 21st October 2023.
Waterville Golf Clubs Ladies and Men's clubs will host a joint celebration of Golf, food and entertainment on the 29th October to celebrate our 50th anniversary.

Sean O'Shea's Presidents Prize to the Ladies will take place on Saturday 23rd September.
18 and 9 hole stableford competition, times sheets will shortly be displayed in the Ladies office. The draw for Tee times will take place on Wednesday 20th September.
Captains Prize 26th August 2023
Máirín Martin's hosted her Captains Prize on Saturday 26th August.
Máirín's chosen charity was the Derrynane Inshore rescue a voluntary group set up to provide an emergency lifeboat to the Kenmare community
A wonderful evening followed with dinner in our superb clubhouse, music and the prize giving.

Play in Pink 14th July 2023
The Play in Pink 9 Hole stableford competition took place on Friday 14th July 2023, Sponsored by Carrig Eanna
Play in Pink Day’s help support the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, a national charity that funds a comprehensive research programme at the University of Galway. Research has improved the diagnosis, treatment options, and outcomes for those who develop the disease. By funding this research, we aim to positively impact future outcomes for breast cancer patients.
A whopping €1801.80 has been raised so far by the Waterville Ladies event. The final tally will be confirmed in the coming days.

Presidents Prize 1st July 2023
Maureen Creedon hosted her Presidents Prize on Saturday the 1st July 2023.
Maureen's chosen charity was Valentia Island Community Hospital. A great day was had by all with €722 raised for Valentia Island Community Hospital.

National Mixed
Waterville Golf Club National Mixed Teams were unlucky on Saturday 29th April in a very tight game with the last 2 matches lost coming down 17 and 18.
Final result 2/3 in favour of Maine Valley.

AIG Minor Cup
The first match of the AIG Minor Cup takes place in Waterville Golf Links on Thursday 27th April and 1400 against Ballyheigue.
Well done to all Ladies, A very sporting game was played. Its wasn't Waterville Ladies day.
